This is the project that has been keeping me up nights for an entire month...our rollergirl calendar "Better Dead That Red: Rollergirls of the Red States."

We worked with six other leagues to create a kick-ass calendar. LipI was seriously so impressed with the quality of images turned in: this is not rollergirls awkwardly posing with a digicam four feet away. It turned out so beautifully, and it was first time working in Illustrator. Very hard work, but very rewarding.

So now you have to buy it! Come on! It's only $12, which you can send directly to uws@unitedweskate.com via paypal. It is seriously worth every penny to support Riverside Rollergirls, and get a kick ass, and I do mean KICK ASS calendar in return. Some of them are so cute! I'm really excited about the turnout so far. I figured out yesterday that this is actually 4 art projects rolled into 1. First, I make the actual Cletus, second, people take photographs of him, third, i edit the photographs into postcards, and fourth, i compile them into this project.

I'm so proud that something I made is traveling all over the place. It is such a neat feeling!

Anyone can vote for their favorites, you do not have to be a member of the community.

This Saturday is the first annual Caffeinated Craft Show, I'll be there, and I'm bringing the big display piece, so be sure to stop by and get your picture taken as a fetus!

There are going to be all sorts of different vendors there, so if you haven't done any Mother's Day shopping yet, or if you're a Mom and feel like treating yourself to something extra nice, or if you have no children, and no parents, and you just like to buy things, this is the place to be.

All vendors are local cottage-industry types, so you'll find one-of-a-kind and handmade items you can't find anywhere else. Help support indie businesses in Cincinnati!

I'm Getting My Bean On at Caffeinated Craft Show


My friend Lindsey is running this. The best part is there are NO table fees. And there's going to be lots of cool Earth Day stuff, and a bunch of rollergirls skating around. If you are in the area, apply for a table!

Introducing Postcards From Cletus, an online interactive art project starting this summer.
We are looking for participants starting right now!

Here's how it works:
Participants (both domestic and international) will be sent a 100% FREE Cletus Fetus. In return, they will take their Cletus Fetus around their hometown, taking various photographs that show what it is like to live there. We need Cletus Fetuses catching flies at ballgames, standing in line at rollercoasters, running through sprinklers, whatever you can think of, we need it! Starting June 1st, the Postcards from Cletus Fetus livejournal community will come alive with weekly entries, which members can then vote on. Winners will receive glorious, glorious prizes. Oh the prizes you will win!

All you need to participate is access to a digital camera, a Cletus Fetus, and a hometown. Some imagination would help, too.
